University Standing Committees and Task Forces

Duties

Responsible for recommending and documenting the broad policy guidelines affecting the six current, and any future, University Student Media.

Composition

This committee shall consist of three members of the University faculty, two media professionals, and six students appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs.  One faculty member represents the College of Communication, one, the Department of English, and one is the Faculty Senate Representative.  One of the media professionals shall have experience in the business operations of publications and the other in editorial operations. The chairperson is appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs. Included in this membership, the following shall serve in an ex-officio capacity:  Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice President for Financial Affairs or a representative, Director of Student Media, Business Manager of Student Media, Associate Director for Student Media, Production Manager of Student Media, The Crimson White Editor, The Crimson White Retail Sales Manager, The Crimson White Credit/Collections Manager, Corolla Editor, Corolla Sales/Marketing Manager, Black Warrior Review Editor, Black Warrior Review Business Manager, Southern Historian Editor, Southern Historian Business Manager, Marr’s Field Journal Editor, Marr’s Field Journal Business Manager, Alabama Scholastic Press Association Coordinator, WVUA Station Manager, and WVUA Faculty Advisor. In addition, a representative from the University Office of Counsel and the Department of Human Resources will serve as liaison members.
